Does anyone have any experience with this machine?
I have used it only once today. It has some nice features:
(1) washable pre-filter and hepa after filter
(2) long cord
(3) interesting off/on control-use it on low or high or anything in between
(4)large easy change bag
(5) Very quiet operation!
(6) very attractive color and finish like the Electrolux Oxygen
In use it has the feel of the 50's Singer upright. The rear wheels are wide but close to the center of the machine.
It has pretty good suction with the dusting tools but hard to tell when used in the upright mode because of the floating nozzle. It does not seem to have near the power of the Electrolux Oxygen tank type.

That's a right decent looking machine there, Rob. Haven't seen one up here yet but after your review makes me want to seek one out. Especially when one of us reports that a new vacuum is very quiet in operation.

Oh, now I see they are available in Canada, at SEARS. also the Oxygene3 upright version.

Dave,
I would be interested to know if the same company makes the Electrolux uprights and the Electrolux Oxygen Canisters? My Electrolux Oxygen Tank type is very powerful and one of my favorite vacs. It is very very quiet and user friendly. Even the power nozzle is quiet and the hepa bag holds an unbelievable amount of dirt for it's size. As you can see they are the same color. It has a pleasing sound when in use. It is a complete pleasure to use with some inovative user friendly features.

The upright was out in the UK for a while in the back end of the 90's. Part of the "air clean" range and has optional bagged or bagless on the same model. So there was no bagged or bagless machine on the market - it was all the same vacuum but you could get a cyclone bit for it and convert it to bagless. Great machines!

I have always been interested in this upright. I like to looks
and the way it handles. Don't take affence but they are Eureka/luxs. Designed by Eureka for High end sales. I have only seen them at Lowes here in Ohio? where did you buy yours?
Good to read your review!
Norm

...they're designed by Electrolux, Europe now Eureka. We had them here a good 10 years ago.

Here's the one I used to have...

This is the machine Chris is talking about the Power System. I got it off eBay YEARS ago. I must admit, I didn't like it. Can't remember why now, but I didn't keep it around for long. People say it's much better bagged than with the bagless 'cyclone cassette' fitted. The cyclone system is indeed horrible, like most non-Dyson bagless designs, but I didn't notice much of an improvement with the bag fitted.

The awful-quality picture comes courtesy of the useless digital camera I had at the time; £40 from Toys R Us!

Thanks for the information and the picture. I just don't think this upright is built like my Electolux Oxygen tank type machine. It just doesn't seem right that Electrolux built uprights or Hoover built tank machines! lol

Jack,
I am not a fan of bagless machines either. I bought 2 Dysons and took them both back. The bagless feature seemed like a good idea but not in reality-dust everywhere. I thought they were the most overrated vacuums except maybe for a new Oreck that I bought and still have today. My Oreck is not a bad vac just not a very strong performance. The Dyson were distructive to my rugs. I did like the design of the Dyson canister.

I must say that the container on the power system looks alot like the one from a eureka whirlwind

The Electrolux 'Powersystem'

I had one of those, and flogged it after a month or two. The cyclonic cassette was useless, as most of the dust passed through the two dust chambers and clogged the filter.

It worked better with the bags.

I got the Electrolux because I had bad experiences with a Dyson DC01 'Absolute' and its replacement, breaking at the wheel axle on the motor housing.
