I recently got this Eureka Automatic, it is amazing looking. This is my favorite blue Eureka ever made. The only problem. It does not have the original "Cloth Bag". but it does have a very very nice Vinyl bag, from another Eureka. It is 2-speeds with the swith in the handle. Very nice vacuum. Not much more to say...Enjoy the pictures!! :)

Good for you!

It may not be the correct bag, but the whole thing looks great. I love that headlight assembly and giant bumper.

Enjoyed the photos. And even if the bag isn't original, it sure looks like it belongs with it.
And by the way, it was great seeing you again at the Convention!

I kind of like the bag on it better than the cloth one. I used to have this one with the cloth bag. Sold it on ebay to a collector.

Great looking Eureka!

I really like the look of that model.

I just recently received a Eureka model 2020...same color combo....but with a not so great off white vinyl replacement bag...would love to find the original! I like the bag on yours....especially the plastic/rubber top...really gives it a retro look!

I have been wanting a metal based Eureka for a while now....replaced the rollbrush with a VG2....it cleans great for a 3.5 amp 1 speed.

Wow..!

Michael: Wonderful Eureka! It looks much earlier than mine. Anyone have any input in that?

Jeff: Thanks and Good meeting you and your wife again.

Phillip: I agree, Vinyl is better. It does not hold the gross oders like cloth.

Eureka came out with a Vintage style upright I would say about 5 or so years ago. Where can you buys these?
Thanks!

You mean like cigarettes Kyle??? The groos odor of cigarettes!!! LMAO.. Just joking buddy...

Clayton, Eureka did used to offer their "RETRO"Vac for a time and was nothing more thatn a non-headlight Sanitaire with a colored base, a funky lookin print bag, and a few retro looking labels slapped on it.

Personally they shouldn't have even bothered. They were FAR more expensive than the same MOL model of Sanitatire..

I believe that I saw on on e-bay if you want to look.

Kyle,

That is a beautiful Eureka, I love the colors and I think the vynil bag looks better on it than the original cloth bags did.

Here is a link to A1A Vacuum....they carry the "retro" or "classic" eureka vac....actually this is the cheapest I have seen it.

If you google "eureka 1934a" there are alot of places on the web that still sell these.......

I do really like Kyle's blue vinyl bag.....I have not seen the original cloth bags....If anyone has a pic, would love to see it.

I agree with Kyle that these vinyl bags do not filter very well, if at all.....

I had thought about getting one of these and try to dye it a blue color that would go with the vac...not sure how that would look though.......

Filtration & cloth bags aside...... I would love to find a blue vinyl bag like Kyle's for mine....just because it looks really nice on the vac.

Nice find, Kyle. I can't believe no height adjust knob in the front! Would you be able to do a close up of the switch for me? Is it a rocker (like my self propelled ESP) or a toggle?

Somehow, a Eureka/Sanitaire just doesn't seem "real" to me if it doesn't have the little round switch on the motor housing!

If I'm not mistaken

Kyle's Eureka is a model 270, and it would date from that late 60's, 67-68 somewhere. The height was adjusted by the rear wheels.
Eureka introduced their up front adjustment about 1969 or so, roughly the same time as Hoover introduced the 4-position Convertible.

There were these models like the one I found in July where the logo pops out and the hose gets inserted.
