A few things that makes them good are:
1. German made
2. Durable
3. Simple so not much can go wrong
4. Cogged Belt system
and etc...
I myself don't have one but have tried them and LOVE THEM. I really want the Sebo X5(widepath?).

I have a canister and an upright, the C3.1 and X5, respectively. These machines are wonderful. They compare well to Miele and Simplicity/Riccar. The fit and finish is excellent and precise. They are very quiet but very powerful. They clean very well. They have excellent filtration and offer a standard S-class filter or an optional HEPA filter. They have both pre-motor and post-motor filters as well as excellent bags. The customer service for Sebo is very conscientious, and the marketing director for Sebo USA used to keep track of comments on the old vacuum forum.

Sebos are expensive, as are the bags. The HEPA box is over $50, but I think it's worth it.

I also have the Sebo X4 Automatic, the 370 upright, and the 3.1 Airbelt canister.Like the 370 and the 3.1 the best.the neat thing is all of them use the same bag!I have a couple boxes of the bags so I am set for awhile.the filters on the machines are diffrent-but these last a long time-the dealer says on average the filters should last thru a box of bags.Like how the rollerbrushes can be easily removed from the nozzle on the x4 and the canisters powernozzle.beleive they are of thew same types.so replacement is easy.the brush strips on the 370 are replaceable without removing the beater roller from the machine.Sebos were designed to be serviced easily.the dealer even took apart a 3.1 canister so I could see inside-It has a VERY high quality motor inside-German made like Meile. Both machines are excellent-have a collection of Meiles too.bought from the same dealer. He carries Meile and Sebo.he is anxious to get in the Meile uprights.Have an order placed for mine already
yes Sebo parts such as bags and filters are expensive-much like Meile-but that box should last a year at least-along with the filters.not too bad a price to pay to use a fine machine.

Would you write a more thorough review of the 370? I have wanted one of those but never got one because I can't find a decent review of one. What do you think of Sebo's application of the two-motor design?

I feel the Sebo 370 is got to be one of the best clean air uprights available.normally i don't like clean air machines-but this one can be appreciated.the twin motor design is excellent.and when the handlebar is in the upright posistion the roller brush motor is shut off so you don't damage the brush or flooring when using hand tools.but when you are using tools the machine is VERY TIPPY-I Try to lean it against the wall when using tools or it falls to the floor.the beater bar motor also has OL protection so if you hit that sock under the bed it trips off to protect the motor, brush and sock. All in all I do like the sebo 370.but--i still like my kirbys better.I still like using my 370-try one at the dealer-even if you are a traditional air upright guy-you may like it.The 370 unlike the X4 has manual nozzle height adjust.you adjust until an orange light goes out on the top of the floor nozzle.this indicates proper nozzle height on the floor that you are vacuuming.
