I recently came across a GE canister vacuum model C-18.

Can anyone tell me anything about this machine?

Thanks.

WOW!

I sure hope you snagged that one for your collection! If I'm not mistaken, those are very hard to find! Most of the swivel tops out there are the single speed type. I've only seen this one once and it was privately labeled under the A.C. Weber brand name.

If I am not mistaken,

that very machine is currently running on eBay. Or else, somehow two identical machines, in identical condition -- right down to the hang-tag, missing attachment caddy, and replacement hose -- have mysteriously surfaced.

I have a feeling that the proud owner, "Bubbaz," is likely the eBay seller and this is a not-so-subtle way of doing a little advertising. His blank user profile is pretty much a dead giveaway on that count................

You are correct

You are correct, I am the proud owner, who is also selling this machine on ebay.

I was referred to this web site by another seller when I inquired about this vacuum.

I'm not really after advertising (although I'll take any I can get), I'm really interested in information about this machine, out of curiousity mostly, because of the reaction I've gotten after putting up this auction. I had immediate offers, and an unusually high number of watchers.

I guess it's a pretty good find, any idea what it's worth?

I apologize if this appears to be crass self promotion.

I have started collecting vacuums, mostly because I pick them up for next to nothing at auctions.

I find all kinds of Vacuums, I think I will start frequenting this web site to increase my knowledge.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks.

Bubba

of course, if the seller of this cleaner wanted to promote it, he could have simply said *its on ebay*. members here have done this much more boldly before. bubba, i think you showed good *discretion*, but you were outed. for members in good standing here, an ebay mention might be a good way of getting a machine into loving hands. for outsiders searching for quick promo/info, get lost! bubbaz, you havent done anything wrong, despite the negative assumptions.

WOW Charles! Great stuff!

Hey Charles, I just checked out your web site. Great stuff, no kidding.

Thanks for all the info.

I've got a new eye for vacuums!

Who'd 've thunk it! :)

I believe that GE is the candian model

I'm most certain this Ge is made in Canada, as there have been a few on ebay in the past couple of Years but I must admit I think this one is the best so far

Well, I wasn't saying anyone was doing anything wrong

when I suggested that it seemed the machine was being promoted here -- I was simply trying to clear up a little duplicity inasmuch as some people were not aware that the machine was on eBay --- instead apparently thinking it was part of someone's collection. After all, I =am= the one who provided the eBay link.

Just a word of clarification is all -- I don't wany anyone harboring any undue resentments against me. People have enough justified resentments as it is....... :)
