I envy you. As an Oreck salesman, that would be a real treasure to me....

I like those. How lucky for you! I have that portable, not that glowingly nice though.

I've got the upright like that one, bought it for $5. Needs a little tlc. Can you get a hepa/filtrete style bag for it?? What can be done to it to increase the filtration level??

Hypo upgrade

You can purchase a new hypo-allergenic outer bag from Oreck for about $60. Also, the green hypo-allergenic inner bags work much better in the way of filtration than the blue ones.

Keeper!

Hey Chris, that's really a nice machine. I would keep the original bag for posterity, and purchase the newer style odor-fighting disposable bags from Oreck. They are a cloth type bag similar to hepa, and have an odor fighting charcoal liner. The filtration is much better than the paper bags, and the airflow stays 20 percent stronger as the bag fills. They are a little pricey to buy a pkg. of 8, but if you're not going to use this as a daily driver and just want to try the premium bags, I'd be happy to send you a couple for just the shipping charge. I work part-time for Oreck and these models if maintained can still be good vacuums. I know Orecks get a lot of flack on this forum, but for what they are, they do a great job. Congrats on your find.

I dont plan on using them, as I am not a big oreck fan. I work on them all the time in my vac shop, but I thout these wold be neat to have for my vacuum collection.
