Actually joe the hoover model 28 is not that rare. usually I see a couple pop up on ebay every week. and I check daily. the only rare finding on the 28 is the headlight film and the orig bag. there is a version of the 28 that is rare though and that is the metal top 28. Hoover made few of the metal tops. however I have both bakelite and metal top model 28 with attachments

I wish the model 61's were as plentiful on eBay as the 28's. They were manufactured at the same time, but the 28 outsold the 61 in an almost 3 to 1 ratio. I guess there was a significant difference in cost. In addition to the metal top, another rarity for the 28 is finding one with the original disposable bag system. Somebody posted a photo of one on here a couple of weeks ago....

I was sorta thinkin since it was in such good condition it would be rare but I guess I really shouldn't talk about something I don't know too much about.

oh joe I did not mean to offend you in any way :). this forum is for anyone intrested in discussing their opinion about a vacuum cleaner. I was not saying that you were totally wrng but the machine in the photo has some things that are rare and others that are not. like for instance the light film that is a rare find and other is the bag that is not original that is a dvc knock off. the original bags are harder to find due to them ripping or people just replacing them because they were worn out. you can speak about anything. we are all here to help each other and discuss our passionate hobby. please do not be afraid to say your opinion in any way.
