Hey all I have had several Kenmore's and I have really liked them . Their whisper tone uprights built in the 90's are a great value, they look and clean as good as the new Riccars. Their canisters are also great cleaners, their power nozzles really get the pet hair up fast.

Hey Rich -

Nice to meet you at our mini-mini-mini meet yesterday. Here's some shots of my Kenmore canister (116.27814700). One of the best darn vacuums I have ever owned, at least of the non-vintage variety...

the only thing I DON'T like about this vacuum, just like it's predecssors, is the bare floor tool. It is too short in the neck to effectively swivel far left and right. So, I bought a fit-all bare floor tool several years ago when I bought the first Progressive I had (both made by Panasonic). It works much better.

and another cool thing

about this vacuum, is that there is a second "headlight" (small) at the base of the telescoping wands. You can even use this when you are vacuuming bare floors and don't have the power nozzle attached. Nice feature (you can see it in the first picture).

Kenmore Canister

I had the previous model to this vacuum. Mine was the orange one. I really liked it until I had to take it in for service 2 times for the power head cutting out and then finally the little pet power head quit working all together and now its out of warranty and the main power head is cutting out again so its now a car vac. Im really upset with the decline of sears quality I have an old kenmore canister from the early 90's that still works amazingly. On the orange one I drilled holes in the back cover where the hepa filter is and it greatly increased suction and filtration (less air comes out of the cord winder) If you look at it (if its like mine was) the air from the filter has no way to escape when the cover is on. Oh well just my rant.

Powerhead cutting out

Mine was doing the same thing and I traced it to the connector at the top of the telescoping wand,It is basicly a fusable link,It is only about $9.00 at Sears.com. Mark
