Some of you may remember Scott Miller's post last month about how he had bought two Kirby Classics and put one together, then offered the second one to anyone who wanted it for the cost of shipping. After a few emails back and forth I decided to take him up on the offer. It arrived last Thursday, and my son had it unpacked and put together before I got home from work. We tried it out and it runs great and is every bit as powerful as you'd expect from Kirby. Just needs a good polishing, headlight guard, brushroll, and sani-emptor gasket to reswtore it to it's original beauty.
Then this Monday my friend and new VCCC member Jim Barnhart came over to visit, and gave me a Royal Commercial model 1028Z as an early birthday present. Built in 2001, it's quite a bit newer than my other vacuums, but it's also my first true Commercial vacuum! It also needs polishing and a new rug guard, but it runs great!!
Sorry I haven't taken any pictures yet, but will post some as soon as I do. Thanks again, Scott and Jim, for these fine machines!
Jeff

You are welcome Jeff !

Once you get it cleaned up it will be a nice addition to your collection even though it is "modern" compared to the rest of your vacuums.

Congratulations Jeff, I know your in love with that newer Royal commercial but you will soon feel the same about the Kirby once you get it shinning and parts needed!
