Well, the Hoover Company and its former employees may not be profiting from the closure of the Canton plant, but SOMEONE sure is...!

No kidding! It looks like this guy has a major stockpile of this stuff and will just keep listing it a little bit at a time.

Now I had been thinking that the old stuff had not been removed from the vault. I guess I'm wrong or something changed.

Either way, people are willing to pay big money for NOS items, especially those from the Hoover vault. As long as the stuff from the vault was removed in a fair way, I guess I don't mind. I guess if I could get a good deal and make a buck, I might do the same.

I bear no ill will against someone selling these items on the open market. The bidders determine the final price, not the seller. The interest in collecting vacuum ephemera is growing - it does not bother me that all this interesting stuff is not in my basement.

Here's the bottom line: Would you rather see these historical pieces in the dumpster, which has happened at least once with Electrolux, or would you rather them being preserved in someone's collection?

I'm just sorry I didn't notice the auction in time to put in a bid!

Oh, I bear no will to the seller at all. As poor as I am, I would never begrudge someone else the right to earn income any way they can, within the bounds of the law of course. That was not not my point.
