Andy Weter gave me this laminated Electrolux model diagram when I visited his store back in March. This is one of the diagrams you always see when you walk up to the service counter at the Electrolux branch. Anyways, I was so appreciative of this gift I decided to frame it. I figure I will hang it over the spot where I keep my Luxes. :-)

Any lux collector would love to have it !

Quite true Norm.

I sent away to many companies back in the late 1980's and early 1990's and when contacting Electrolux, they were quite kind to send me this same poster, along with brochures covering their latest and greatest at the time.

I believe that at that point it was the last metal bodied Grand Marquise, with the powerhead with the headlight. I remember saying to myself...."FINALLY they have one". LOL... A headlight that is....

What a wonderful gift. Andy's truly a class act and a true blue vac-u-phile. There aren't too many like him that's for sure...

AWESOME GIFT!

Hey Logan

Congrats on such a great gift, one that I, too, would love to acquire at some point! Andy is indeed a kind an generous guy. (He gave a great presentation in Omaha). I have always wondered (even been bummed) that Electrolux NEVER seemed to include models XX (20) and 'T' (THRIFT) in their line-up. I suppose, given so many 'Landmark' machines, they were not as proud of those two!!!

The framed result looks awesome!

Hey Rick:

Actually the reason for the machines not being included was that those posters were made after the first leverged buy out and the guys that were making them didnt know about those machines (You'll also note that not all the dates are correct - the Canadian one is MUCH worse than the US one). I was working for Electrolux at the time and talked to the guy that was putting them together. His attitude was Never heard of it, don't have a picture of it in my file, so it couldnt have existed. On the Canadian one he missed over half the machines we had.

LOL and I cant type my own name today. Too tired. You'll also notice that, unlike previous sheets where the various colors of model L were presented and dates given he lumped them all under the blue machine on this one as well as doing the same to the G.

I have always loved this poster, Logan.

Now a bit of fun for you and the rest of the gang:

1 - how many mistakes can you find?

2 - how many models were overlooked (canisters only, not speaking of uprights)?

I found 10 things by taking a quick glance. I love these types of things because it tests everyone's knowledge of vacuum history!!

1. White Model L is not listed.
2. Model R was not in production up until 1966. (Hence the missing White Model L).
3. Model S was not in production for 3 years. It was only made for 1 year then they came out with the Model R (or so I am told).
4. The cheaper versions of the Olympia, Silverado, and Diamond Jubilee which ultimately replaced the Model L are not listed.
5. The Diamond Jubilee color is not Tan. There is nothing Tan about it.
6. Model 20 not shown (and is quite rare).
7. Model T not show (and is rare, but there are still some around).
8. Previous upright style (not Discovery style) are not shown or mentioned. (I can understand why LOL)
9. If they were trying to show off the machines in the photos, you would think they would have pictured the Model R, AE, and LX with their optional cord winders like they did with the blue Model L.
10. Brown Model L did not come out until 1967, not 1966 like the image says.

Well Logan you really nailed it! There are two other little points, tho:

- Model F made until 1960 not 1961

- Model G introduced in 1960 not 1961

It looks like everyone forgot the Hospital G. Since they told the different colors, I think this should have been included.

I can't believe I forgot the Hospital G!!!! The white/blue and white/brown models. Thank you for reminding me!

And the commercial models for that matter...I can't recall the name of them (my brain is cramping from working today).

Do you mean the CB series machines? The big tall aluminum cannisters that were on 4 big castor wheels?

CB is what I was referring to. The name just slipped my mind!
