Found a new use for my Kirby yesterday. I was cleaning the outside shutters and screens on the front of the house and having trouble getting the dirt removed. We live in a new area of homes and they have just completed the house next door so we have had a lot of dust on the front shutters and screens.. I got the Kirby out and took the long handle off and replaced it with the portable handle. Put hose on exhaust and filled the spray jar with HOT water and Spic&Span. I sprayed the screens and shutters,let it stand oa few minutes and then followed with a quick rinse. Great results and no damage to the screens. I even used the shoulder strap. I felt JUST like a picture from the instructions book! My Kirby has really seen some use in these past 20 years and still going.You pay more for a Kirby but you will still be using it long after the plastic vacs have gone to the curb.I bought the Kirby before any vac collecting and it's still the machine I use all the time. What a fun way to clean the screens!

That's great, Rob! A Kirby can make the average vac just look plain dull.
