I've had this Hoover for a couple of weeks and paid $1.00 for it at a garage sale. I haven't used it yet but it's got a light blue bag & hood and the rest is a light Seal Griege color. It's a 2 speed and has no headlight and the serial # is 045196. I would like to know anything about it like when it was made, it's place in the range, etc....
Thanks,
Brent

Hello Brent, That convertible is (I believe) is a U4021
1973-75 B line cleaner square hood basic model. Powder blue and taupe. That's if it is a metal base without headlight I think.
If it has a headlight and metal base then it would be a
U4027 promotional model rounded hood with headlight. Stellar blue and taupe with snap bag. 1974-75 Those are the only models I have on my list of metel based machines with the model number starting with U402.
Hoover guru's please say so if I am wrong.
