I got 2 new vacs this weekend.
On Saturday I recieved my Hoover Elite from myhooverco that I bought on ebay, it was from the hoover vault manufactured in march 1988.
On Sunday I found a eureka ESP upright it is a newer one that was black with the grey patterned bag. great condition with exception to a few scrapes on top of hood.it was only $5.00
I also got on Saturday the manual I ordered on ebay for my Hoover convertible U4399 I got for easter, the convertible was also from the hoover vault.
HopefullyI will win the JC Penney convertible on ebay this week since it was relisted, didn't get to bid first time because I couldn't get on internet(I still have dial-up service, only thing avaliable in my area). I may also bid on a JC Penney canister with power nozzle also.
Can't wait to see if there is anything new at flea market next week, might be hard to look because I am going to sell, I have the crown Vic Packed full of junk to take the whole trunk and the back seat is packed to the roof. I will probably leave the front seat open so I have room to place new goodies

If I knew how to post pics I would show you the elite along with my Convertible which was also a hoover vault cleaner.
The elite is a red and gray. I love the striped bag. the Convertible is gray with a gray and white striped bag. They look so good together. It was also great getting to use a brand new unused Elite. I haven't done that since April 1994

Hmmm.....let me guess......

It is a Hoover Elite 5.2, right? One of the older model Elites with the large bag. It also came with a full attachement set, too, didn't it? I also saw it on ebay, and was thinking about buying it, also. You are one lucky guy, Sam!

Another rescue from my building trash..lol

its a 7/97

cleaned head to toe
what a mucker it was
clogged from top to bottom
they fed it everything
never saw such vac abuse
2 foot plus globs of packed dirt held together with rebar paperclip reinforcement

lol

square/ rectangular tubing is not the best imho

Many times I thought to ditch it
Still it hangs around for ocassional use

Stripped it of its tool caddy thing
it was ugly & the tools etc one day when I was going to part it
but then I went in at it again & totally cleaned everything
Poor thing is clean now
then I looked at it with just the vac & said you look pretty good

OK you can stay awhile longer...

LOL

Did the ESP look like this?

Post# 42482 , Reply# 8   6/3/2008 at 13:33 (5,777 days old) by xraytech ()

Yes, It was the elite 5.2 with tool set made in April 1988. It was number 23 off the line.
The ESp I got was a newer black one with the grey and black bag and cheap plastic handle, It was suprisingly clean and well worth 5 dollars.
I will post pics if I can get them on my computer that is where my problem is I cannot get pics from camera to computer.
