Here’s a before and after. I’m happy it’s finished, but enjoyed the process of restoring this thing and am a bit sad that it’s now complete.

That is amazing you were able to fully restore this D80 from its bojack state back to its original factory state!

Thank you!

Here’s a picture with better lighting... also, I had to adjust the bumper (I tried to get around the traditional way of installing a new one and...it didn’t work, and thankfully so, it looks so much better installed correctly).

Nice job.
Is the bag collar black or dark green.

Sadly, it’s black. I could not find green. If you have or know who has the green, I’m all ears!

The original filter bag guard in the color you want is part no. 191667. Good luck!

Thank you! Finding one that color in good condition has proven very difficult. I bought this machine with red trim and some aftermarket “NoDust” bag, so I don’t have anything to swap out.

The part number certainly helps. If I can find it, I’ll let you know! Thanks again!

Hey

Let's say I have 2 of everything plus some. I have 3 or 4 bag collars. I might have to wipe it down but I have 3 or 4 collars. If you have a list of parts you need I can see what I can come up with. I only have 1 green cord the power switch I have 1 and emtor I have a few but only one great one. I also only have 1 green hose.
Send me what you need I'll round them up. Email me at lesinutah@hotmail.com and put d80 in subject.
I'm not looking to get rich just help out. So name your price also.
Les

Amazing resto - have a drink on me!!
It is great that you found almost all the other parts you needed. A bag collar is easy. If no luck soon, i can check with my Kirby guy next time I visit him. He has many D80 parts units in the back.
Now do not trash the red stuff as it is uncommon and could be easily washed up as sold to someone here who may need it.
All you need now is the Lady Sunbeam olive green suitcase hairdryer set I saw at Goodwill yesterday to go with it! I bet both were sold around the same time.
Enjoy the vacuum!

Do tell me more about your Kirby guy whose got the extra parts!

The red trim... I’ve saved it all. I’m actually about to start restoring it. I was thinking it may come in useful. I’m not sure I’ll save the cloth bag, as it’s an aftermarket “NoDust” and I just can’t think of any use for it.

Email me... I’ve some questions: trajemoi25@aol.com
