Just wondering on this, I remember we discussed this in the past and some said they thought Hyacinth from Keeping Up Appearances would have a Hoover with a Royal Warrant on it or maybe an Electrolux.

What do you think Hyacinth would think of Dysons? Sometimes I picture her getting a DA001 or a DC01 or DC02. I know the DA001 came out in 1993 and the DC01 and DC02 came out in 1995, so definitely when the show was still being produced. I'm not sure how common they were early on, but I guess it's conceivable Hyacinth could have gotten one or the other.

Of course we do know Onslow and Daisy had a very late model Hoover Junior sometimes seen in earlier episodes, and later an Electrolux Z65. Elizabeth had a Goblin Housemaid with soft case bag.

I'm certain she would insist

on the best" The Hoover, WITH the seal, delivered to her front door, in the middle of the afternoon. It would be prominently displayed, for all to see as they dined at one of her "Candlelight suppers". Because, "If it weren't a real Hoover, I won't have it".

across the road

....from us we had a neighbour who possessed many uncanny hyacinth traits and she did on one occasion state that "they always went for the best" which also would mean appliances. "They" meaning her and hubby (he had even less spine than richard!!!)

They had a mid 70's hoover junior 1346 and an early 60's hooverette 2944.

Tarquin? We know he's won prizes for his needle-points. Maybe she has a Floormate..... because we KNOW Elizabeth "spills things".

I think....

Hyacinth would find out what vacuum Violet has and either get the same or better one.

Also, she would display it for all visitors to see instead of storing it away.

Lydia Hawksworth (who beat Hyacinth in the craft show and drives a new Jaguar Vanden Plas) would probably have something very expensive, but then she probably would have a maid anywhow.

I could probably see Violet having a Miele canister of some kind.

Hyacinth I imagine too would have a Hoover by its "appointment to Her Majesty the Queen." Maybe she had that Junior that Onslow and Daisy had an replaced it with maybe a Turbopower 3 with Autosense and the Royal Warrant.

Hyacinth would undoubtedly have the best that Richard could afford and she'd be sure to set up the traffic cones with the "delivery imminent" sign :)

Once the delivery men arrived with her vacuum, she'd insist on them removing their shoes as not to scuff her woodblock!

The Vicar and his wife (I don't know her name) would maybe have a VAX 3 in 1 cleaner and use it in the church too or maybe a Henry for the church.

Hyacinth would have...

A Hoover Junior Deluxe, the one with the head lite.A plastic caddy bag with the large Hoover emblem on it the hold her deluxe set of cleaning tools and paper filters. It would have been blue,to match her hand painted pariwinkle china, for candle lite diners.

I imagine that Hyacinth might have had a Hoover Turbopower (in Wedgewood Green). Or possibly an Electrolux.

Her sister Violet (swimming pool, room for a pony) might have had the larger Hoover Turbomaster.

Did we ever get to see Hyacinth's vac?

Actually, I have a HOOVER Convertible

on display as we speak, in my formal diningroom, for all to see.

Now, how many of you are REALLY surprised at that?
