Hundreds of vintage and modern vacuums - free to anyone who comes and takes them away. I have over 400 vacuums, most museum quality. I don't want them to go in the trash however, I cannot take but a fraction with me. Come Get Them - In St. James, MO There are only a few exceptions (Stan Kann's collection - and machines from the late Mike Hays and Clay Floyd).

Free Vacuums....

This would seem very telling.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 But perhaps it's just ones' ordinary Spring/Summer cleaning/evacuation.

No one can take anything with them.

I'm going to retire soon, and want to keep only the vacuums that are on the shelves of the Museum. Not the hundreds in the store room. I can't fit them all in my house, nor would I want to.

We are NOT closing the Museum. The machines on the shelves in the Museum are staying. It's the hundreds of machines in the store rooms that can go. I want them to go to friends who will appreciate them. Even when I do retire, I'm going to work part time and the Museum WILL stay open.

Now THIS is “Very Telling”...

Tom G’s abounding generosity shines through again, in allowing others the opportunity to own one of their dream machines. Thanks Tom!

I just got started collecting, and it's very pre-occupying to me these days!

I'll see if I can make it out this coming weekend or next week.

Looking forward to seeing the collections and meeting you all!

Bill

That sounds great. I have a very nice Electrolux for you! I thought about you when you got your last one - the one I have for you is the same vintage as your last one, but the top-of-the-line model.

Thank you!

I've been searching for a Model G and/or Model XXX. They would complete my dream set that I have in mind and can't stop thinking about.

Let me know. I'm looking into tickets today. Any hotel recommendations?

The GreenStay in St. James, MO is a great place to stay, 2 minutes from the Vacuum Museum.

ChicagoMike is picking up all the rest of the machines - so they are spoken for and will be going to a new home.

OMG, I'm over the moon!

You have no idea the obsessive journey I've been on to find a beautiful one recently...the one I remember as a young man that cemented in my head what the difference was in a quality machine, and how much better vacuuming felt, and the beautiful rich sound of a solid motor giving that extra confidence in having a productive cleaning.

Thank you again, Tom, for your kindness.

I'll be my first trip to MO!

I guess St. Louis is the closest airport. And then I looked at Google Maps and calculated it's about an hour and a half to you.

I wish I could drive to you from West Hollywood, but it would take a few days each way and my vacation time is limited from work! I literally live a half block south of Historic Route 66 where comes through this part of CA. What a coincidence! Now that would be a gorgeous drive worth taking... if it still went all the way through!!

I'll call and keep you informed of my plans. Can't wait to see my new babies!

Bill

I will take back my gold Kirby machines and the Heritage. The Classic III that was mine is actually your personal machine now; I'm pretty sure you bought it from me. I might be able to make it down tomorrow, not sure yet. I hate to think of you retiring; it won't be anything close to the same without you even if it's still open.

I am so glad that Chicago Mike is getting the machines! They will be in great hands, appreciated and preserved! Chicago Mike is a great guy!

I don't understand why some read into the generosity on Toms part. I have personally met Tom and he has a heart of gold! Very giving of his knowledge just all and all a good soul. The fact that he reached out to us all and offered up some of his prized possessions is nothing but amazing.

I LOVE this sight! Loving and collecting vaccumes is viewed by others who don't understand as odd. I am so thankful to have found this group/cite to learn that there are others out there like me. You have no idea how much this has meant to me.

Kindness and helping others is the greatiest happiness one can feel! Let's not forget how special this group of wonderful, knowledgable, passion and great group is!

I am nothing but thankful!

Oh and Tom, About the Green Lux that you are holding for me.....I am beyond over the moon. I have been looking for one for a long time! And....the fact that it has a power nozzle has just about made me pee my pants!

Thank you....Thank you....Thank you!!!!

So APPRECIATE YOU and all that YOU DO!!!!
