To my knowledge, Panasonic purchased the design of the DAM to produce their own line of clean air uprights while Hoover still owned the dormant design.

My Mom had an orange DAM that I used growing up in grade school and then up until middle school.  I loved that thing, especially the hose attaching to the back with the adjustable suction control!
