Hi everybody so I brought a nice conditioned Kirby Rug Renovator Kit on eBay and I brought this particular one for my Classic Omega (hopefully get it working again), and my Classic III. This one has 3 hooks on the back and it looks the same as the Classic Omega and III so I would love to give this attachment a try and I also used the carpet fluffer/floor polisher on the Classic III and it was amazing! I do have a lil problem, I’m trying to place in a new belt for the shampoo nozzle and I’m having bit of a trouble removing the brushroll off. The screw is supposed to come off along with the rubber piece so if anyone knows about removing the brushroll off the Rug Renovator I would love to use the shampoo part for the first time. Thank u!

This set is for a...

Heritage II, Legend, or Legend II. Will not fit the Omega or Classic III.

Go to Kirby's webpage and look up the owners manuals on how to change the belt.

you may have to

put screw drivers in both ends of the brushroll....and one of the screws will release faster than than the other. Remove one, pull away the brushroll from the shampooer, and put the new belt on. Reverse the process to put together, you may have to use a toothpic or pick to align the shafter that runs thru the brushroll ( looking at it from the end piece) so that you can screw the screw/rubber guard back in.

Hey Jason,

"...Will not fit the Omega or Classic III..."

I am curious, would you please explain why the Rug Renovator (as pictured) will NOT work on Gabriel's Kirby Omega???

Hey Gabriel,

Congrats on acquiring the Kirby Rug Renovator Kit.

Cheers & hagn all,

Bill

"...Will not fit the Omega or Classic III..."

It may fit, but the question would be, would it depress the Safety Speed Selector switch on these models. The Switch on the Heritage and Legend models are not on the attachment bar, but the fan case.

The picture you show looks like it may have a depression to press the switch on the attachment bar, just a matter of trying it, I would guess.

1st off...My name is Jae....

2nd off. The safety switch on a Classic omega and on a Heritage II are in two totally different configurations. So thus, this Rug renovator set is not suitable for a Classic Omega.

The head you need looks like the blue one. It is from a Tradition model that has the same attaching lug configuration as seen on that one.

The Black head is from my Heritage II. If you look closely at both pictures you will see the Black head lacks the 3rd attaching lug close to the center of the fan opening. That lug depresses the safety switch on the Omega, Classic III and Tradition Models.

Gabriel,

The only Rug Renovator/Miracle Head casting that will work across the Heritage/Legend series and the Classic Omega to Tradition would be the one for the Heritage 1HD.

KirbyClassicIII, very nice! I want most of my Kirby attachments to be black.

color matching

rivstg1's profile picture
I've developed a color obsession ....I want each of my Kirby's....to have the matching attachments. Its serious overkill....but I rotate the vacuums (for use) and...just like it when everything matches! haha. I"m NOT like that in general life....so how do I explain that??? Classic III with all attachments....1-cr with all except Shampooer, Dual Sanitronic with 90% matching....see, its bugging me that I'm missing the crevice tool....I would rarely use it, but I want to complete the set!! haha. arggghhhhh

Gabriel,

Thank you!

As to finding black tools, that shouldn't be much of a problem these days, considering black is pretty much the only color Kirby offers for attachments for all its older (pre-Generation 3) machines. Among them that you want for your Classic Omega is the hose (part no. 223666) whose universal suction coupler will trigger the speed switches on all Kirbys ranging from the 516 up to the 3CB Tradition, and then buy the Heritage II tools to compliment that.

There were numerous other Kirbys in black: in addition to the Heritage II (and the 1987-89 Legend refreshing), the very first Kirbys were also black, including the inaugural product to carry the Kirby name, the 1934 model C, and its successors the 2C (1939-40), 3C (1940-41), 4C (1941-42) and 505 (1945-48), and the Gsix and Avalir among the present-day Kirbys.

And here are some pictures of my 1987 Heritage II with the shake-out bag (seen with both the standard 16" nozzle and the less-common 13" nozzle). It was not original to this serial number, because when I first got it, it had the long 6" rear axle specific to the common Mini Emtor setup. And while I wanted an actual black hammertoned Sani Emtor for the shake out bag so as to match with the rest of the trim, they are deemed extremely rare these days so I settled for an aluminum one, which came from a Classic 1CR.

Ben I don't like the flannel type bag the classic 3 came with. I really like the legend bag. I may get me a classic 3 and do the bag setup.
The classic and classic omegas' with the black heritage nozzle looks awesome. It's like a mountain man wearing a tuxedo. I got a rug rennovator for a c3. I have a tradition rug rennovator. The classic I have I have ever attachment made for it. They are all in mint condition. The previous owner bought it new.
I'm waiting on fixing the coil.
I used my avalir shampoo system today. I used my avalir. I use it with my seit.

Les,

That is awesome you have some good use for your Kirby Avalir. And I also praise you for having come across those good-looking Rug Renovators for your machines!

I do have to agree with you about the original Classic III bag cloth. Over time, the fibers in the cloth deteriorate, which then allow dust to escape into the air. You are correct that my Classic III is wearing the Legend II's Mini Emtor assembly. I initially tried that inspired by other Kirby owners, as a means of reducing pollen in the air (there had been disposable bag conversions available for Kirbys in the past, as far back as the 1950s/'60s, which took the same kind of disposable bags as the Eureka [types F and G] and Royal [type A] uprights, but those ones had actually [and significantly] reduced performance). The Micron Magic brown disposable bags are strong enough, but the polypropylene disposable bags used since the Sentria, I've read, are even better.

~Ben

Hey
I use the original emtor. I put a Lexan plate on emtor using 2.75 inch tube and use sentria 2 f bag adaptor. I used the new green writing on the bags. I like the emtor on tradition and classic where you can open the bottom getting out bigger items. It's basically Kirby's best filter system on the machine.
I may get to either classic or tradition this weekend and show pics.
I have tested f@g shakeout etc. Empty shakeout and newest Kirby bags offered highest airflow.
Les

Les,

Yes, I know what you mean about the large Emtor on the Tradition and Heritage I with the disposable bag setup. However, occasionally, the Mini Emtor should be checked for some larger objects, too.
