Hey all,

As I posted in "Vintage", there's a probably 1980s PortaPower that I'm hoping to be able to adopt some time soon.
But, in the meantime, I'm going to mess with the brand new version of the same machine.
It arrived this morning.
Separately, I also bought the nylon looking bag that you can put the PortaPower in.
I know the vacuum itself has a handle and a strap.
But...accessories!
Plus, I had some Amazon gift cards burning a hole in my pocket.
I got the vacuum, spare paper bags, (for use with the converter), a spare cloth bag, and the carrying bag/tote thing for an out-of-pocket cost of $5.

Who else has one of these, and can talk about what you think of it?

It's kind of ironic.
I've seen PortaPowers from some era that are assembled in Mexico from American-made parts.
This one says "Assembled in the USA".
So I'm guessing that now, the parts are made somewhere else; perhaps China, and put together here.

I got a black commercial Portapower

from the Hoover Employees' store in N Canton, about 2 yrs ago. 3 weeks ago, I got the one w/ the mesh bag. It's called "PortaPACK Commercial". Your box looks like the one w/o the mesh carry bag. But, I'm not sure.

Hey guys,

Sorry I only got around to the picture of the box.
I was kind of enjoying it, since it's the first NIB Hoover I've ever bought. Lol.

I will post pictures of everything eventually.
I've been having some health issues, and things got a little sideways later that day.
Truth be told, I haven't even opened anything yet.

John:
It sounds like we have the same vacuum and mesh bag, but mine wasn't a package deal.
I ordered the bag separately.
The vacuum itself is a black, Commercial PortaPower.
And the bag, I believe, is marked PortaPack. That's what it says on the box.
(I'll be sure to post a picture of that box too!) Lol!
I'll know for sure once I'm feeling up to getting everything out of the boxes.
Now, I'm having to find a way to get back to work, despite how I feel.
So it will be even more challenging.
Please bear with me.

Barry

I think it's cool that they still make these too, and with the old style wand and attachment clips. Hope you are feeling better now.

Hey Cole

Thank you much.
I'm feeling a little better.
I'm hoping to get some pictures of everything tomorrow.
Believe it or not, I still haven't even opened the boxes yet!
I hope nothing's wrong with any of it.
When I have pictures, I'll post them...promise!
