With the launch of the Dyson V10 it came to my attention so many sites/ YouTube channels are sponsored by vacuum companies fail but don't mention it.
Wondering what vacuum land thinks of sponsored reviews that don't mention that they're sponsored?
Below are couple examples of paid reviews.

Well one of those reviews is mine. The last one.
And I certainly didnt get any money or a free V10 from anyone.
I paid the ungodly sum of $700 like everyone else.

I have bought all the vacs I have reviewed so far, though I am being senta free robot vacuum from an upstart company to me this week which will be the first free vac for me. I intended to make it very clear that it was sent to me in compliance with the FCC regs which I think are pretty necessary.

I do like the V10 though, if it was cheaper it would be a great buy.

Then there is the sad case of the JohnnyL8.
Person who is trolling everything what makes the Dyson look bad. Most vacuum channels have blocked him. It alone speaks how bad the situation is.

Just wondering if you watched any of these videos before posting this?

The first 2 clearly mentioned that Dyson sent them the vacuum.

A wave of these vids came out on the release date as Dyson clearly sent them out to a lot of creators before the release with the condition that their videos be uploaded on the day of. and as far as I know all of them mentioned it.

As I already mentioned my video (the last one) was not sponsored at all.

As far as Vacuum Advisor, I have never heard him mention that he has been sent vacuums, and I am guessing he buys them like me. It also should be noted that he certainly wasnt part of the actual initial wave of free V10s being sent out since he published that video much later than any of the others, and since all the paid promos came out on the day of it wouldnt make sense

cool stuff

@VacuumWars first off it's nice to hear that you're an actual person! I was under the impression that you were some sort of professional production company. The lack of variety of brands definitely made it look like you were in the same boat as vacuum advisor. That guy only test box store vacuums. Vacuum advisor also does not respond to questions.

What company do you work for vacuumWars? I noticed on your Instagram that you had some rather nice production equipment. I will remove you from the list from the Facebook posting as it paid Reviewer.

@Mike811 that Central Vac video has so much misinformation. Was definitely done by somebody who only looked at filtration efficiency versus the end working result.

Yeah I suppose I dont have that many brands represented but its mostly a matter of not having enough money to buy everything I want. Plus I am still learning about what is good and what is not. I would like lots of Sebos and Riccars and such, and I do search for good deals all the time.

I do have a penchant for what is new and exciting in vacuum technology though and Shark and Dyson both being the top 2 leaders in revenue put the most money into R&D I would imagine. I mean I think the Duoclean tech from Shark is pretty much unbeatable as far as pick up ability... to touch it is to vacuum it, and so far I havent tested anything that comes close..So yeah I genuinely love Shark they dont have to pay me to say that ;-) though if they wanted to I would let them.

As far as who I work for, no one, totally independent, though I would like to get some brand deals, on the condition that they dont mind me doing all the tests and showing the good and the bad. I also clean houses (too much actually) for the cabin cleaning business my wife and I own, so I have a preference for what is utilitarian, as I want for a vacuum to do the best job with the least amount of hassle in the least amount of time.

My production gear is pretty simple, I probably have put $150 tops into lighting, I have had a lower level DSLR for a while (Nikon D3300) I have a Gopro Hero 4 and my phone for my 3 camera setups. I really try to put a lot of effort into the video production and editing though to make the most of I have.

Glad to join the forum, I have been testing the Kirby Avalir 2 all day and I have a ton of questions for another thread.

There were a lot of bad reviews by sites that should not review vacuums when the V10 first came out. Several of the tech youtube channels I watch reviewed them. Clearly, Dyson's marketing people were told to push this to the tech community via social media / youtube.

The last two examples in the list above include 2 legitimate vacuum review sites. Mr. 'What we love about . . .' also posts the 'What we don't love' videos as well. Vacuum Wars runs a cleaning company and it's nice to see his opinions on how some of these vacuums hold up under heavy use.

As for Dyson, I always wanted to hate them. To me, they look like a child's plastic transformer toy. But I've been using the V8 for several years now and must say the easy of use and maneuverability make me use that vacuum more than any of the other fancy vacuums that sit in my closets.

@rvarley as noted above vacuumwars does not belong in that section. I do believe the other vacuum reviewer as you put "it mr I love and hate about this. is paid for sure by vacuum companies and is a very biased reviews.

There are some real creeps who post vacuum review videos on YouTube. They seem to be lonely people with nothing to do, In many cases, they don’t seem to be all there mentally. Waste of time to watch those “so-called“ professional vacuum reviews when they are done by kids in their parents basement.

@Dysonman1 I have seen some reviews done by some kids in their parents basement that are quite cringey.
But I'm not sure how this applies to these videos?
Nobody in this videos appears to live with their parents or make poor quality videos in their parents basement.
