I was searching patents bored one day and found a unique bagless model i believe made from Fantom. This is made by Iona Appliances like Fantom so this definitely must be one, any more info on this machine? Or Is it rebranded under another name ?.

Link is broken i think so heres the actual one for more info on this - www.freepatentsonline.com/D365669...
Also i think Fantom made a quick broom that is very, very simallir to the Fury AND is also bagged 0_0 from Iona, though i could be wrong - www.freepatentsonline.com/D392430... All of the Assignes on these are from Fantom Technologies so are these really some Fantom models that never released and just prototypes/designs? please let me know because im really curious to find out |

In reference to this patent form here www.freepatentsonline.com/D392430...
I know it's a blueprint draft, but god is that ever hideous! Looking at the references cited, it looks like they were trying to make a conventional upright of the IONA Speedvac like the one here: s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/usedp... ...and the top part is a rigid cloth bag of some sort like a Regina Quik-Broom. Seeing as this was in 1998 and they went bankrupt 3 years later, those vacuums were very much outdated and that might be why they didn't want to risk launching it. |

Looks clunky, messy, and awkward.Doubt that a woman user would like this vacuum-it would be too handle heavy for them. Then to top it off the messy dust cup and filters. |

Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I absolutely love prototype vacuum cleaners! It's always fascinating to see what kind of ideas were developed back then, whether they made it to market or not. Even though these are just drawings, they imply that perhaps at least one of each of these vacuums physically existed at some point. If one found one of these prototype cleaners, he/she would have a vacuum which Fantom's own engineers had their hands on. Think about how cool that would be!
The first one does indeed look like it has DC03 DNA, which is not surprising given how closely Fantom and Dyson worked together. Surprisingly, it doesn't have Dyson's quick draw hose. As others have mentioned, the second looks like a Regina Electrikbroom or Iona Speedvac on steriods. Prior to this thread, I had not yet made the connection that the Iona of the Speedvac and the Iona of Fantom were the same thing. Makes sense! |

Concept cleaners always have had a high intrest in me aswell, as soon as i saw this, i knew i had to put it up on here. I really do hope this machine existed at some point, if i ever do see one ill buy immediately and put videos and info about it, but i really doubt that will ever happen. But if it does, i'll have to stop myself from having a damn heart attack if i see one thats for sure. Both machines are very very interesting. I wonder if this is a Fury before they made the original one, if not. I wonder what the name of this would be, Hurricane, or Tornado ? Can't really think of a name Fantom themselves would use but i think thats pretty accurate. The hose looks like its from the Amway CMS, just changed around a little. Probably where they got that design from. As for the Electrikbroom thing, i do believe is made by Fantom. Just imagine seeing that with the Fantom logo on the bag, they never had anything to do with bags, which really shocks me. But it was my pleasure for sharing, i dont think there was ever a thread of this on VL, so i posted it and always welcome.
