Thanks for posting these. The Aqualux is the best looking outdoor vacuum I have ever seen.

Oh I had a 600 series, nice little vacuum in essence, lol.

Sort of a "stepping stone" between the 500 and the Contour, the Contour being the last of the decent European Electroluxes in my opinion.

Did You Know...

...that the 600 Series had three different styles of agitator?

My Grandparents had the 612 with a brushroll that was made of a smooth single piece plastic barrel.

A replacement brushroll I bought for them a few years later, was the 'Contour' type, similar to the 500 Series' design, with the two halves of the brushroll riveted together.

I had a look at a friend's 612 which was terminally broken, and was surprised to see an 'agitator' with plastic beater bars.

The brochure actually alludes to "brush beater bar action", but I always presumed that that was Electrolux-speak for a brushroll without beater bars - until I saw the friend's 612. This particular 612 also had a stretchable hose that was very unwieldy. Either it had lost its stretch, or the Electrolux hoses at that time were nothing like they were later on.

Hi James,

Nice to meet you too.

I'll try rescanning again at a lower setting. I've a sneaky feeling that my super-duper idea of maximum resolution was misplaced! Anyway, yes, this is the first time I have uploaded scanned images (making a right pig's ear of it too, I might add!).

I must apologise for the late reply - my computer had become very unstable over the past couple of months, culminating in those glorious 'Blue Screens Of Death' last week. Had to take the bloody thing to a repairer, as it wouldn't even accept the Recovery disc! (Why the hell can't Microsoft distribute their Operating System on uncorruptable ROM chips, instead of having it loaded via flakey, corruptable hard drives?).

I'm ten years older than you.
