The new model was just released, and it definitely has a brushless motor. Our distributor here says he has one with my name on it, going to see about a trade in of my GST that I got recently. Can't wait to get the new model, it sounds awesome.

Did I hear correctly that this model has a brushless motor in it like the newer Rainbows?

@n0oxy

Hi Mike,

Wow, congratulations on what will be a fantastic Vacuum purchase! I checked out the Hyla website and those are beautiful, well built, high quality vacuums. If I do jump into the water type vacuums, I will choose this one. Hey Mike did you see the Hyla GST Swarovksi Crystal Edition?? It’s cheap at only $23,798.88! 😳😬😂 (See pictures numbered 12, 13 & 14)

But all kidding aside, the one you will be getting is awesome. I love the look of it, even the frog has grown on me and I love the gloss black. Thanks for sharing with us and please post pics of your gorgeous new Hyla EST as soon as the dealer gets yours in and you bring that baby home! Is there a post on here where you’ve posted pics of your current Hyla GST, as I LOVE pictures?? Either way, congratulations and I hope your Hyla EST arrives soon. I get this rush of adrenaline and almost chills when I open up the box to a new high end vacuum like yours... are you excited??

I hope you don’t mind.. I had to post the cool pics I found online and of the outrageously priced Swarovski edition LOL. Oh and @S31463221 Steve, I know you were asking this question to Mike, but I got excited looking at the new Hyla’s online and Yes, the Hyla EST has the MagnetEco Brushless Motor! It’s quiet a powerful machine and I’m sure will be a top performer! (See Picture number 9)

Ok, I hope it’s ok I commented and posted pics.. I’m very happy and excited for you Mike. My best to you and have lots of fun using your new Hyla when it arrives.

Patrick

can't wait to get it

Yes, it does have a brushless motor, Tom already has one so perhaps he can talk more about it but I will definitely post my thoughts once I get mine.
Actually, if you want to give a water vac a try I would suggest the Quantum, it has a good price and cleans very well at a price much lower than the Rainbow or Hyla.

HYLA and 4th of July

I had a few St. Louis vacuum collectors over on the 4th of July for a HYLA unboxing party as well as a dinner party. The new EST model, with its two speed brushless motor, is awesome.
The start up is not nearly as shrill as the Rainbow's Hurricane motor. Low speed runs slightly faster than the Rainbow, but it is not so Loud as to disturb you when you're running it while sleeping. Makes great white noise, and cleans the air. Adds glycol too, if using the deodorizer/air freshener. The new HYLA fragrances are awesome.

The machine has wire integrated electric wands now, and they help the power nozzle to feel weightless in your hands, since the wands are so lightweight.

The best part, it has a remote control to turn it on and off from your bed.

There are many things about the HYLA I like better, like the fact that the air enters the pan almost at the bottom of the water level. I've put several videos on facebook already of the machine running. It's a fantastic machine, better than the Rainbow in many respects.

"E" stands for "Evolution" in the EST model designation.

It looks like

It will filter better than the Rainbow , the air has much more travel area thru the water.

Hyla calls that the "geyser" effect. The air comes down a tube, and enters the pan at the bottom, and the opening is 'front to back' - so the huge stream of air literally has to push a gallon of water 'upwards'. The self-cleaning separator eliminates the hassle of cleaning it. All in all, the new HYLA is wonderful.

The new Hyla EST Evolution is perfect for pet owners. My border collie, Ellie Mae, approves.

going to hold off on the new model

I'm going to hold off on the new model and see if the distributor ends up with a demo unit he may want to part with. Earlier this year I paid $1300 for a new GST model, now that the new model is out, he wants $1050 for the new one, and that includes a trade in of my GST that I bought earlier this year, I just can't justify that at this point. The main difference is the new motor, other than that they are pretty much the same, and a brushless motor does not matter to me as much as it may to other people. I don't run any of my water vacs on low speed all the time so the motor wearing out is not a concern at this point.
