Hi everybody, so it’s been a while that I did one of those vacuum delivery unboxing surprises so I finally get to do one! I won this past Sunday and I been really wanting these types of upright vacuums ever since I started collecting and this bidding never got me fooled this time! This seller was from Texas! Don’t mess with it! So anyways this was supposed to be delivered on Saturday but the office was closed that day so it finally arrived today so now let’s open her up!

The only attachment was missing is the wand so I looked through a box of spare tools and found the right one which could be original to this vacuum.

Here it is after easy assembly and it is in very good condition being around 20 years old. Another thing is that later around the 90’s this was rebranded as Bissell which everybody probably remembers.

It has a new bag ready for use. I also found out these vacuums take Hoover type A bags too! Awesome!

I try it out and it’s not that loud like i expect but that’s good, but it needs a new belt because the brushroll slows down a bit and the tool suction is not bad but not super duper uber Shark vacuum strong but it’s still good, could be worse. The bag definitely looks like and reminds me of the Eureka Bravo/The Boss.

Some folks here probably can't relate, but I like the "budget" cleaners from the 1990's which have a soft bag in front of the handle. My favorite is the Hoover Legacy (and the rest of the Elite family, really), but I also like the competitors (more like copy-cats) such as the Eureka Bravo I/II and your Singer.

Is it very loud? I had a later Eureka Precision (Bravo II in disguise) and, sadly, it was earsplitting. In fact, it has been the only vacuum cleaner I got rid of for the sole purpose of saving my ears. No, there was nothing wrong with it--fan, bearings, etc. all healthy. Rather, it was just that loud by design.

Enjoy your new cleaner.

Trust me broomvac, the Singer is not earspliting, it sounds pretty good!

These were made by Royobi, both the Bissell and Singer models. Hoover sued them for patent infringements because these were direct copies of the Elites. For example, they take the same Hoover type A bag. I used to have that same model as yours, I got rid of mine because I couldn't find a replacement brushroll for it. I now have a Bissell version that's 8 amps but it's technically the same vacuum as the Singer. Not a bad vacuum overall but I prefer the Elites or the Bravos better.

Panasonicvac, that’s right I remember remember seeing a video on YouTube of your Bissell! I would love to find another soft bag Bissell with a headlight.
