I am fortunate enough to have found a very nice example of a Fantom Crosswind 600XL on ebay! It is in close to mint condition! There aren't many of these around today because they didn't sell for long before Fantom went under. I am also fortunate enough to have a dark blue Fantom Wildcat in close to mint condition.

I may have told you when you were up here that Fantom inventory was being liquidated through various local places. About a year after they closed at the Erie County Fair, they were selling these for about $99. I picked up a NOS 11amp Destiny for about $45. Best Buy was the only retailer I knew that stocked them prior to Fantom closing. Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target Wildcats.

That thing is in good shape. Definitely a keeper. If I remember correctly you can just put a HEPA in these if you actually intend on using them. It muffles the sound more I did it in the 200XL, this seems slightly louder than the Cyclone XT but it could just be your video.

That looks like a neat machine! Thanks for sharing! I’m a bit of a Fantom fan myself.

Last summer I passed up the Westinghouse version of this Crosswind 600 XL. It was a darker blue and hadn’t been used much at all. I think it was $60. At the time, I was not aware that it was more valuable than that and I was turned off by the lack of a dual cyclonic system. If it were an original Cyclone XT, I likely would have sprung for it.

Oh well. Live and learn I guess. I hope it went to a good home.

Yes indeed!

The HEPA filter and the entire cyclone assembly from the Cyclone XT can be used on this machine. I definitely recommend doing that if anyone, for some reason would want to use this day to day. I wouldn't though as it is fragile and hard to find parts for.

Hard to find

I’m honestly surprised more haven’t turned up more Fantoms in the Rochester area. I garbage picked a Fury just about two weeks ago. I passed on a Thunder at the goodwill in Brockport because it seemed to expensive.

I usually only buy Thunders though, they’re the most durable and easiest to work on.

Lightnings are more scarce.

Somewhere though there have to be scores of drytechs, service merchandise has tons of them.

I did actually pick up a 10 amp Fury two weeks ago

I got it off of Craigslist. It works great, the only issue was that it was missing the lower portion of the cyclone assembly, which I pulled off a parts 10 amp Fury I have. It has surprisingly a decent amount of airflow through the hose for a Fury.
