Hello All,
Today I made the discovery that one of the local vac shops has two boxes of NOS Fantom parts as well as a few used ones. There was some of everything: Thunder, Fury, Lightning, and Cyclone XT parts. Plenty of brush rolls. A few tanks. A few power nozzles. A few Motors. And more! I ended up bringing home a few things from this old time capsule to improve my Thunder. (1) NOS Dusting Brush (Missing from mine) (1) NOS Crevice Tool (Again, missing from mine) (1) NOS Brush Roll (Just to have a spare) (1) NOS HEPA Filter Holder (The one currently on my Thunder is missing a bar in the grate) (1) NOS Dirt Tank (Because shiny things are nice!) All for $35. I am pleased with my purchase. The parts were dusty as, well, something that sat on a vacuum store's shelf for 20 years, but they sure cleaned up nicely! Here are some pictures of the parts as-found: |

So this is what my new dirt tank looked like before I vacuumed up a cup of sand for a test of my Thunder's deep cleaning ability.
Just kidding! This one won't touch dirt. As you can see, this one was never used. The fine dust collection chamber is spotless. This is what a new Thunder would have looked like. |

Here are the rest of the parts. I love how the light reflects off the new piano black ABS.
That's not a scuff on the new brush roll; it's the white paint from Fantom's quality control worker! I could tell this roller was new because the black paint on the section where the belt goes looks untouched. I think Dyson must have designed the crevice tool for Fantom, too. Look at how similar it is to the current Reach Under Tool. Once I get a chance to put all of these new parts on my Thunder, I will give an update. Enjoy. |

Could we see some photos of what the new bin looks like in a thunder? No need to use it of course, but it would be cool to see what they looked like all shiny and new! Nick |

I’d take a few brush rolls if available, I have like 20 Thunders/Domestics/Destinys some are near mint and will outlast the existing rollers. |
