Hey Guys,

Just received my Miele Blizzard and wanted to share a few pics and observations. Great looking machine. It came with the SEB 228 Electro Plus and the Parquet brush.

The hose does not seem as stiff as a regular Miele. Interesting that it came with a dusting brush, but there is no where to store it on the machine. They changed the design of the upholstery tool, and it has rubber instead of velvet on the bottom.

Other than that, it’s a Miele. Suction seems strong. I have to admit this is one vacuum I am going to have to read the owners manual. I am a bit intimidated. We will see how it goes and how well it perrfoms once I take her for a spin, although I hate to see that prestine dust chamber get dirty.

Any idea what it's airflow is like? Baird meter maybe? I've been curious as to how they compared to the standard bagged ones, but not curious enough to spend the money.

@Gman

Hello Grant,

Congratulations on a very stylish and well made Miele Blizzard. It is a beautiful machine that I’ve heard great things about and it’s a very good performer too. I don’t own one as I collect Upright style vacuums, but if I had to buy a bagless canister/cylinder type vacuum, this would be my pick.

I added the link to my friend Rogers video when he unboxed and gave us a first look at his Miele Blizzard and thought maybe it would be fun to watch.

Take care and congratulations again.. I can’t wait to see more pictures and hear how well you like it. Thank you for sharing.

Patrick

@gman
I found the owner's manual to be a bit vague as Miele manuals usually are.
Do you work at a Miele dealer?
I found after vacuuming my store with one of these the efficiency went down about 10% and was not restored after pressing the popcorn popper button.
@blackheart
If I had to guess it would be between 5 and 7 right out of the box it seems to have about the same amount of power as a s8000/C3 vacuum .

Update

Haven’t had an opportunity to really use it much yet. Want to do some comparisons to my Capricorn. Really anxious to see how it goes once the fine dust chamber gets “dusty”.

@Vacuumdevil

Not a Miele dealer, just really impressed with their machines. The owners manual is terrible. Had to read the section on the fine dust chamber several times and gave up and went to YouTube. BTW big fan of your channel.

Miele still churning out those "tools" that look like they belong in a Barbie Doll house. Same short hose too. They are so ridiculous. None of this is to criticize your decision. I would buy a Miele in a second if they would correct these issues.

@GMAN be curious to see the comparison since they're about the same size and weight.
Thanks, glad you enjoy the channel!

@electromatik you should check out a previous model the s344 Platinum IT addresses all of those concerns.

Which Capricorn do you have? The gray one or the purple one? I have one of the earlier gray ones and really enjoy that machine!

@vacuumdevil

I went and looked but it still doesn't have all the features I would like. No controls on handle and not sure about cord length. Miele doesn't check all the boxes, and it doesn't look like anyone else is going to either.

About the airflow.

mike811's profile picture
Typical single cyclone will limit 20-25 cfm.
From the picture you can see how the Shark cyclone limits 23 cfm when it's connected to the Miele C3 hose end.
Not a deal breaker for sure, but just to keep in mind. Miele Blizzard has very similar cyclone what Shark uses.
However still good airflow. No one is going to notice huge difference between the C3 and Blizzard.

@electromatik sounds like you might be a SEBO man then .

@Mike811 that's a pretty accurate analysis of what goes on when you add a cyclone I would say the airflow and water lift feels the same as a C3 when you first take one out of the box after you vacuum a large room you'll notice the drop.
However compared to the other Bagless offerings in box stores is is dramatically better.
