I'm feeling a little remorseful today. I sold off most of my once-loved vacuum collection in order to help purchase an old VW camper van for music festivals and camping trips. I love the van, but I'm really missing my collection. I was also moving at the time and didn't have good storage space for the vacuums.

At it's height.... (all Electrolux/Aerus models) -- Photos attached. A few weren't yet purchased in the "group photo."

1205 - PN-1, smooth body (Sold)
1205 - Golden Jubilee (Sold)
1505 - Silverado (Kept)
1521 - Diamond Jubilee (Kept)
1521 - Ultralux, Dark Blue (Sold)
Epic 6000 - Dark Blue (Kept)
Epic 6500 - Grey (Sold)
Legacy - White/Grey, final model year of this color (Sold)
Guardian Ultra - final model year (Sold)
Legacy - Black/Grey, anniversary model (Kept)

I kept the Silverado as a workhorse because it's too rusty and ugly to be worth selling. I kept the Diamond Jubilee because it's a family heirloom passed down from my grandparents to my parents and then to me. I kept the Epic 6000 because it's the first vacuum I ever purchased for myself. And I kept the black Legacy because it was the first new vacuum I ever purchased and it's also the newest in the collection.

I don't really miss the 1205; I wanted to swap it for one with a light turquoise bag door, but it at least did come with all period correct accessories. I miss the Golden J because it was un-faded/un-yellowed and came with all matching/correct accessories and the owner's manual. I really miss the dark blue Ultralux; it was in mint condition, and it was a color-matching companion to my Epic 6000 marking the switch from metal to plastic canisters. I don't miss the Epic 6500; I was never wild about the color. The two I regret selling the most are the white Legacy and the Guardian Ultra. Both were the final year of the model (because they had black cords vs. grey). The white Legacy I bought brand new after I bought my black one-- some stores still had NOS white models at the time. The Ultra I found on Ebay in basically new condition in its original box without a blemish.

I think it would be very challenging to replace most of the sold machines. The older models often sell in pieces rather than in matching sets, and the two new machines... well... those aren't new anymore, so any I find are apt to show wear.

I just needed to vent. No one else understands collecting these things.

If I ever decide to add one or two to my collection in the future, what Aerus/Electrolux models do you think I should add? I'm open to models beyond the ones listed here.

Well, I mean, at least they went to good homes, right? There's always that.

I second Les. Go have fun in your new old shaggin' wagon. More vacs will come, in time.
