Oh, what can it be, all the way from Illinois? Curious cats want to know.

a brand new 1947 LEWYT 40.

ok, well, it's brand new to me. Complete with everything including the owner's manual...except for the two wands, main floor tool and crevice tool.

The seller assures me the wands & floor tool have been found and are on their way. :-)

storage boxs in sad shape but presently being repaired - additional hidden reinforcement and reglued edges.

Original supple cord and strain relief, w replacement plug.

Hose in fine cosmetic shape has been resealed with liquid latex treatment.

So, all I need to complete this beauty is the crevice tool.

It's Felix Approved!

Felix is now almost full sized as Hector. I think he's gonna get a whole lot larger. What a magnificent squirrelly tail plume!

Interestingly, the 1947 manual gives instructions to use the LEWYT 40 as a wet suds & water pickup vacuum when shampooing carpets...simply remove the paper filter cone & cloth filter cone tent support and only collect water up to the hose intake port, empty tub of dirty water and resume sucking.

Nice Lewyt, Dave!

I've got a 40 myself. It's a nice machine, quiet and powerful, think you'll enjoy it. Mine is complete except for the paperwork (instruction book, etc.) and the box. Congrats!
