Working Kirby Tradition for sale.
Spares or Repair. Tidy condition. Runs perfectly. Fault: Safety Switch missing and bypassed with motor-wires joined together. Hence Spares/Repair. A new Safety Switch is approx. £30. Handi-Butler included. No tools or hose. Willing to dismantle for trim, wheels, parts etc.

Actually, the safety/speed switch on all the 240V Kirby motors (models before the Heritage 1HD) were wired so only the high speed was activated. Meaning, the 240V (export market) motors only had the red and white wires (besides the green ground wire) going into the speed switch. So, I do not think anything is wrong with your Tradition. Our 120V (North American) Kirbys, since the Dual Sanitronic 50, have had two proper speeds. The low speed (all belt-driven accessories) comes from the red and yellow wires, whereas the high speed (hose) comes from the red and white wires. ~Ben |
