I ran across this PDF file at random when searching what year a vacuum I just got at Goodwill came out and figured some people here would enjoy it or find it useful to their reference. It is from some random vacuum store and details all the new Eurekas for that year with a handy bags & belts cheat sheet as well a stock photo of the vacuum for every vacuum.

Wow.. Thanks Huskyvacs!

I enjoyed the catalog and had 8 of the cleaners in that book! The one I remembered the most was the Capture, it had Roller Blade type wheels in the back! Too funny as they looked cool but only went straight ahead and back, so it was a bit hard to maneuver.

But thanks for sharing.. Loved strolling down memory lane and laughing at what I thought then, were amazing vacuums.

Flashback!

I wish they still made the bagged Contour and Smart Vac. As far as their bagless uprights, those were DARK days for Eureka. The Altima and Capture's filters clogged almost immediately. Extremely high-maintenance bagless vacuums. The 4D was another disaster.

Memories.

I remember seeing those machines with the feather dusters at home depot. Did those have suction going inside the duster holder or am I remembering it wrong.

I believe they did. You could flip a valve open and it would clean the duster.

I remember most of those, never saw the bagged ones much though. Some of these like the High Performance bagged upright and Air Extreme bagged canister used to be under the GE name at Walmart,

I never knew there was a bagless Mighty Mite either.

I do have the little Boss SuperLite vacuum in yellow, my parents keep trying to get me to get rid of it, it needs a filter. Noisy little thing, but cute.

Just realized, there's no 1934A in that.

I’d go for the Boss bagged and Bagless uprights

Their build quality/cleaning ability was superb for the price. They are still being made now under the Sanitaire label.

The Altima with the dusting brush did have suction going into the holster when you depressed a lever that opened the valve with the vacuum running. The idea was that it cleaned the brush off and into the vacuum without spreading dust in the air. A fun thing to do which doesn't happen on command and can take a number of tries, is to holster the duster and open the valve. If it decides to do it, you can make the duster twirl around at speed within the holster. It's more fun when you're like....10 though. lol
