I spotted this Premier vacuum cleaner on OfferUp and decided to get it. The guy was selling it for his mother, who bought it new. It looks like she never used it. Yesterday, when I got it home, it wasn't working. Today it is. The light goes on and off. I'll check the wiring to make sure everything is good.

Those cord reels can be problematic over time, I'm sure it's just a loose connection and one of the main leads popped out of the socket. My Electrolux Epic I bought, seller described it as "dead and not functional - for parts". Turned out the hot wire to the switch was unplugged and it wasn't getting any power. Plugged it back in, and away it went. Motor was in very good shape too.

Very good-looking machine. I second what husky said, it's probably some simple, stupid problem like the cord reel.
