He seems to be the UK version of the one kid here in the USA that was on The History Channel back in the day.

He's lucky to live in the UK where people throw so much stuff out wastefully, because you'd never see a Dyson Fluffy in the trash here. I just got outbid far and beyond my bid by someone who put in $105 for a broken one on eBay!

Gotta admire his entrepreneurial spirit. I find it interesting that he bypasses the printed control boards to make them "run more efficiently". Translation: he gets rid of the built-in self-destruct mechanisms designed to ensure a short lifespan and frequent product replacement. Way to be stickin' it to tha man!

Are PCB's like that something that only UK vacuums have to meet EU electrical and noise regulations? I don't think I've ever seen a PCB in a vacuum here other than ones from the past 10 years.

Hope his parent(s) let him be a disaffected youth too. Dating will probably change lots of things in his life....be interesting to see what he's up to in five yrs.

If a PCB is in a vacuum for a good reason other than sales bling and it's proven durable, I don't see any problem with the design utilization....

History Channel back in the day...

...and paying my way through college now.

I am lucky enough to attend college in the same town as a little known Goodwill Outlet store. Vacuums sell for $7 each no matter what it is. I've been going there for years, and finding and flipping has helped pay my way through college all these years. Good job, Matthew!

What a cool kid. Wish I had that kind of gumption when I was his age.
