fans were made in Bridgeport, CT?

I asked this on the AW site awhile ago, but those of you familiar with the vacuums might know the answer?

I know in the 70s GE discontinued some of the items that weren't making money, with vacuums being one of them, and I think they also stopped making blenders.

I know at some point in the 70s they stopped making fans, but I've heard anywhere from 1971 to 1975. I do know at some point they started selling fans again but then they were made in Taiwan and just had their name on them.

In 1984 GE sold their small appliance line to Black and Decker and after that they made no more small appliances, but B&D continued to make some of them, in fact they still make the GE Steam and Dry Iron to this day.

I looked on Google Newspapers and the latest sale ad I've seen with a real GE fan was 1974. I have a GE desk fan I got on eBay and it has the box, manual and even the receipt with it from 1968 and there were old 1968 newspapers in the box. I also have two of box fans with 5 big blades, I love those GE box fans.

How sad to see such a stately row of century old buildings demolished. They could've been repurposed for some other manufacturing plant and SHOULD HAVE been landmarked to prevent such a bleak fate. So much for making America great again....
