So I've got one of those two-sided Electrolux rug and floor tools the bristles of which are absolutely trashed. Is it possible to replace them? If so, with what?

You'll have to replace the metal cover because the bristles aren't supposed to come off. From my experience, I mean

brush strips

yes you can replace the brush strips
in my stash i have 6 plus sets
and tan/white rubber gaurd to go with them i think
