I found this on the Bissell Commercial website. It looks like a cross between the Aerus 4000 upright and the Aerus Commercial upright. It even takes the same bags. I wonder if it cleans as well as an Aerus. Any info on this machine?

This looks like the ProTeam upright colored green and with the Aerus Upright filter added to the exhaust. Bissell Commercial has several recolored brands in its line up. SoniClean, Oreck, and Eureka Mighty Mite come to mind.

It's wayyyyyy cheaper than a Lux upright though. I wonder if it cleans as well and is as durable as the Lux upright?

From what I understand it is a look a like only. The current Aerus Upright has a stronger motor than previous iterations. ProTeam seems to have a good reputation, so I wouldn’t think it’s as strong but I’m sure if it’s taken care of, it will do good. I’d recommend using the cloth bags instead of the paper ones.

However, that’s a lot of green.

There’s a “Clean Obsessed” branded yellow version too. I found it on Amazon.

Not made by the same company. We sell these at my work, it's one of our best selling commercial by-pass uprights. I would definetly take one of these any day over the Lux uprights because not only they're half the price off but the motors and the bags are even better as well. And another thing about the Lux uprights which is also true on Kirby is that there's no hose or attachments to store on-board compare to these which you can, it saves time from having to go back and forth on grabbing the attachments which I always didn't like doing.

From what Ive heard, Aerus originated the OBT upright design with the Lux 4000 (followed by the Lux 6000). Customer reception was luke warm overall due to weight and balance issues, so Aerus sold the manufacturing rights to ProTeam-Emerson, which manufactured its own lines:

Cascade

ProCare

ProForce

In addition it private-labeled several renditions:

Aerus's Xtreme Plus

Sanitaire's SC6600 & SC6600A; "System Pro" SP6610 & SP6610A

Pullman-Holt's "Rug Boss" UV3, UV5 & UV10

Clean Obsessed's CO101

Dust Care's HD-2 & DCC-2HD

Bissell's BGU1000 ("Big Green Upright")

_______

Most of Aerus's vacuum cleaner motors have been manufactured by JEI of Hong Kong since circa 2002.

We have two of them in one of our buildings. They are the only two out of close to 250+ vacuum cleaners.

Performance is like the Lux version. Clog up very easy. And a nightmare to unclog. So far haven't had to replace any housing parts.

I doubt it is an Aerus or even a ProTeam, it is most likely a Perfect brand vacuum manufactured in China by Nationwide, as most of their Perfect brand vacuums it is provably not built very well, they look good but that is about it.
