I really like the color of this machine . Performance is okay but I think the PN is louder than the others.

The Lux Legacy is just the rebadged Epic series from the late 90s. Did they make any improvements to these machines? I have the Epic 6500 SR and its a nice vacuum, however, I've never likes those chunky plastic wands. The metal wands on the classic were much better in my opinion.

I use the Perfect brand cloth bags in mine and they seem to filter well. I was tempted to buy the Guardian Platinum last weekend after I tested it out, but I wish Aerus had stuck with the C style bags that they have been using for decades instead of creating a machine that takes a special bag.

I like the color, too, Keith. Its PN motor is likely the same as my Lux Commercial's, which was made by JEI of Hong Kong and is louder than older Electroluxes.

_______

@ Luxkid1980 ... Lux International designed the LGP for Aerus, which is likely why the C bag wasn't used. LI cleaners (the classic overseas Electroluxes & current overseas Lux vacuum cleaners) never used/don't use the C bags.

Aerus currently carries 6 styles of bags in large part due to outsourcing: Style B (TTI - LuxLite, FreshEra); Style C (Aerus - standard & economy tanks); Style L (Tacony - Lux Lite by Aerus & Lux Lite Cordless by Aerus); Style P (Lux International - LGP); Style R (Aerus - Renaissance, Epic 8000, Guardian series, & Lux 9000 tanks); Style U (Aerus & ProTeam - household & commercial L-shaped nozzle uprights)

To those that have used the older Power nozzles on the Silverado era Electrolux machines, as well as the newer versions on the Epic and Legacy models, do you feel the newer nozzles clean as well as the older versions? I know the topic about the weight decrease of the nozzles causing them not to "dig down" into the carpet as much as the older versions has been discussed on here at some point. Not having used the Lux Legacy personally, I wonder if this is still an issue. The Epic 6500 power nozzle I have sometimes seems to skip across the w2w carpet I have in the den (depending on the direction I am vacuuming). I am guessing the newer nozzles are just as lightweight?

Yours looks identical to my Lux 7000 other than the color. I do Like the darker colors, makes the machine look very sharp. The blue and white on mine seems very bland. Your floor tool looks like one of the “old school” reversible ones. Mine is just the bare floor brush. This is my newest Electrolux and I don’t have complaints about noise or performance compared to the older models. If anything I think this PN is better than the old ones. I would use it with the older tanks if it had the appropriate electrical connections.

I took one of the later model power nozzles (N106F) and converted it for use on the older canisters. It now has a LED bulb, and rocker switch.

I do have several older power nozzles as well.

It seems to me someone here mentioned that the combo floor/rug tool was only an option for some years. I'm thinking it was returned to the standard tool set when the current black line was launched in 2013.

The owner's manuals would help provide a timeline.

Cool. That's the first I've heard of someone converting a pn's elbow, and the LED lamp would be a great upgrade. So how does its cleaning performance compare with the older, heavier power nozzles?

perfect bags and Legacy wands

I also use the Perfect cloth bags in my Perfect and Electrolux machines, very good bags, better than the ones that Aerus sells I think. I also don't like the nonstandard wands on the Legacy, I think the hose end that goes in to the machine is the same as the classics and if that's the case, you could use a classic hose with that machine along with all the standard sized attachments.

Guys the feedback and discussions are just great !!!

@ Sven : How much would you charge to convert an N106F for me?

@ Paul : Hi Paul :-) :-) :-)

@ Cameron: I have the same machine in the same color as yours, and I like the sound of the motor both in the machine and in the PN much better !

@ Jason : I think the PN4, PN5, PN6 and N106F clean better than the new ones.

Keith, that's good to know about the PN4, 5, and 6 cleaning better. I may get a revised hose/powermate for my Epic and see how that works.

I think my PN 4 cleans very well, but does have replaced brushroll with chevron pattern bristles and of course the Perfect bag in the Silverado, well it has Balls

The N106F also has an upgraded brushroll-roller brush (from Baker McMillen Co. NOT CWP - hard to find) as well as new bearings

"Each piece of Northern White Ash comes from the Midwest (where the best hardwoods in the world are grown). Every brushroll you purchase from ... helps support and create jobs in the USA. We guarantee our brushrolls to be well balanced, quiet, strong and durable – if you’re not 100% satisfied we’ll refund your purchase"

Aerus' newer brushrolls are often said to contain more bristles. After counting them in that photo they have the same amount of bristles. It's just arranged in a steeper pattern which hopefully keeps them in contact with the carpet more often.

I also really like that color as well, I even like it better than the last white color that it was before. I wouldn't be surprised if the motors on these today are louder than the ones they've previously used because the videos that I've watched on these seemed louder anyways. And I also wouldn't be surprised if the performance on the motors is not as good compare to the older motors because I've heard from someone that they've dropped just slightly on either suction or airflow or maybe both.
