A couple of weeks ago, I was perusing Ebay when I came across this little lady. The bag chamber was rusted and the cord had been cut off, so I knew her bearings were bad. I watched the listing for more than a week and debated whether to make an offer. Well, I knew that if I didn't make an offer the listing would expire and she would be tossed in the trash. So I made an offer at half the "Buy It Now" price and it was accepted!

When she came in the mail, I primed and painted the bag floor, installed a new motor bearing, as well as a new cord. Now she runs like new! I also swapped the old basket filter with the thin membrane filter material for a HEPA filter.

The gaskets on the bag dock are missing so I ordered some new gasket material to make new gaskets. When that comes in, she'll be ready to roll!

I suppose this was Eureka's bottom of the line canister when it was manufactured. I don't know the vintage of this model, but I'm guessing she came out in the late 70s or early 80s.

Does anyone know the vintage of this model? Can it be determined from the serial number?

Not saying this is when it was from, but I found a newspaper ad from 1981 online that lists it for sale for $58 at Woolco out of Salena Kansas. I cannot find much info else about this vacuum online.

No problem! Glad my research paid off! I have no experience about paying and getting a membership for that site (seems scammy), but in situations like this being able to view the ad in full size would certainly help.
Also I find it funny the handle on that vacuum looks like the handle from a metal garbage can, lol |

I actually subscribe to that website. I do genealogy research and it can be very helpful at times. In this case, it proved helpful in doing model research for a vacuum! Thanks again!

Salina Kansas, only about an hour from me. I never knew they had a Woolco. Very interesting! |

You did an incredible job in restoring that machine ! It’s looks good! I have a 502B. Is it safe to say that Eureka issued a new model number to the same style machine when it was painted a different color?

Wow! Lucky! How is the subscription plan on that site? Do they do what they claim to advertise? They don't trick you into sneaking more payments in do they? I was worried that you'd pay them the fee and then they'd try and charge double behind your back, that's why I didn't want to give them my bank account info and let them charge to a paypal account that I can refill as needed.

I think the line drawing used in the Woolco ad is showing an earlier Princess model not only because of the plastic cord-storing handle, but also because of the carpet nozzle. By 1981, Eureka had changed to a new plastic carpet nozzle with an integrated neck and “Edge and Corner Kleener” suction notches in the front two corners. Woolco made an error with the image there as it is not representative of the yellow 3210.
