Very interesting reading Charles. I knew that Eureka had won a prize at an exhibition in Chicago in the twenties. Had not
heard about the dispurte over the philaphia fair. I had an
aunt who still had her Mothers 1920's straight suction Eureka.
This was in the mid 50's,55,56,57! That was what she used.
Then she told me she had her own Hoover, Straight handle Cleaner, stored away. At my urging, she got it out and cleaned it up so that I could use it, to see if the carpets
were any different after using the revolving brush Hoover.
The Eureka did have a clipp on brush but it had broken and
never fixed.
