Well, I guess I am having a lucky streak these past few weeks!

Just yesterday I went to Brimfield, MA antique show and I stumbled upon a beauti-ous Electrolux XXX in near perfect condition. Naturally, the only things that don't hold well on these older machines are the rubber bumpers on the attachements. The machine came with the original box containing the original cord, all of the tools, and hose. The motor absolutely purrs!! With luck like this who the hell needs ebay?

Take a look...

What a beauty

& the cord looks like new.

I'm still kicking my arse for a vac I missed that should have been mine.

forever trying to fill that void.

still

I find some of the more challenging ones
just seem to have a special meaning of there own

mint Electrolux XXX

Thanks for the post. I have never seen one in that excellent shape. It was fun to see the box and original packing. I would bet there are several members that would be willing to give you $69.95 original price for that XXX. I got my Hoover 28 out this week and tried to use it upstairs. Even with starting with a clean bag when I got finished there was dust on every table top in the room. I love the machine and it sure picks up the dirt on the rug but it throws it on everything else in the room. You can see why the Electrolux XXX sold so well back in it's day. They were so quiet and compared to a upright with a cloth bag of the day much cleaner. That was an exciting find!

How old?

What generation of XXX is this? Mr. Charles-Richard's 137.com has a nice page to tell the age.

Absolutely Amazing,
Dave

Beeeeeee-youuuu-teeeeee-ful

That is one slick model 30. Has it ever been used? From a guy who has Lux 30's stacked like cord wood (my favorite of Electroluxes), you have a really nice machine! I'm sure you'll take care of it.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratualtions, Louis

What a great find! I was happy to have a complete 30, that runs great. One like that sure would be even better to find!
What a deal!

Thanks guys for the kind remarks! I fallin in love again with this model again! These luxes are so quiet and smooth running. It's amazing how these machines didn't need such high-powered motors to clean well. Having lower amperage is what really makes these models last.

The only thing wrong with this model XXX is the cloth bag rubber gasket which has hardened and chipped off in places so there isn' a good seal anymore. I will have to keep my eyes open for one.

Louis

BAG GASKET

Hey again, Louis

While the bumpers on the tools would be a challenge, a bag gasket should not be any big deal. I am guessing the bag intself is in wonderful condition. Let me know if'n you cannot find one readily.
