1981 Hoover High Power Junior U1104 - Compelete With Cleaning Tools

Hello all,

Last week I rescued a little treasure off eBay...A Hoover High Power Junior model U1104, they called this style Junior "High Power" because they were 300w and not 250 like Juniors had been for many years prior...This particular example was hardly used, according to the seller and they weren't lying! The machine hardly has any marks or wear!

I still gave the machine the usual Alex treatment, of course and it came up beautiful, I think you'll agree.

The U1104 was a design originally used by model U1036, which came out in 1977...A restyled version of the 1970s U1012, (the later 1346 model Junior) to keep with the times, as the Junior 1346/U1012 was beginning to look dated, by the start of the 1980s!

The U1036 and U1104 Juniors are identical in all but colour...This style of Junior had a more modern square type of handle and a combined handle release/power button.

This style of Hoover Junior, although beginning production in the late 1970s, is known to many collectors as "the 80s Juniors". The 80s Juniors were available in several colours and also came in Dirtsearcher variants too! Junior model U1104 had many colour schemes of its own, while using the same model number...Confusing! This Particular U1104 model is one of the earlier colour schemes they did...Cream with a floral brown/cream bag (typical 80s!)...I wish I knew the official colour scheme name.

Despite there being several models of this style Junior...Regular soft bag, (like seen here) soft bag dirtsearcher and hard box versions, known as the "High Power Compact"...The U1104 was to be the last model Hoover Junior, in its own right and ended its production in 1988.

Anyway, enough rambling...Here she is...She also has a new genuine bag and a new genuine belt.

Checkrate/Likes 1 Great find! I love all the different Junior styles from the U.K., so much nicer than the ones we got over here. I love the simplistic look about it. That's the first Junior I've ever seen with a bottom fit hose and stretch too, nice!

Checkrate/Likes *Vac-O-Matic* The 80s Juniors had a pan converter, I suspect it was changed for safety reasons. We only had the Hoover double stretch hose in the UK. 🙂 Hoover were made by apountment to the queen! There was no toning it down! 😉😉

Checkrate/Likes That�s a very beautiful Hoover Junior! Excellent find! I wish we had one of those juniors in that style here in the US. I did saw your latest video of this 2 nights ago, but are you planning on doing a video of the attachments?

Checkrate/Likes They are nice, not quite as good, performance wise as the 60s and 70s Juniors but they work really well. I will do a demo soon, including the tools. ☺️

Checkrate/Likes *high power junior* Hello Alex, Lovely machine; looks like new. That model was probably the last of the good juniors. You can tell that your are meticulous in your cleaning up process. I thought I had the instructions. I looked this afternoon, but no. If I had I would have sent them to you.
