I've had this rebuilt Model L for a few years. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to open it up and clean it out. The motor (circa Model G) was in great shape so I decided to save it for another application.
I had one of the new replacement motors being sold for the newer metal tanks, so I modified the Model L mounting flange to accept the new motor. That was pretty easy to do. All I did was use the hole positions from the flange on the new motor as a template. I also fashioned a new gasket and now the thing is like a BEAST on steroids! However, it is also the most offensive sounding vacuums I've ever owned. LOL! So the moral to this story is that I now have a powerful machine to vacuum out the car. It's too loud to use in the house! |

~ I have a 1970s Eureka 4420 that I put a Sanitaire motor into -- a perfect fit. Talk about a vacuum cleaner on steroids!
