I just scored this FQ model 700 from the early to mid 70s including power nozzle from Doug Smith. I've ordered an electric hose from EZVacuum. It is the same model that my mom purchased in the 70s although the power nozzle was the older style. Her first FQ was from the early 50s. You can't beat the build quality. The wands are heavy duty and I love the felt duster for the floors.

Nice machine. Now I know that the couple of chocolate brown accessories that came with my otherwise black and chrome early '90s Filter Queen Majestic are really from.

I like the Canadian models

They look better in my opinion.

Thanks guys. I just finished shining it up. I've ordered a new disc filter and baffle silencer (circular foam ring inside and under the dome) as well as a new brushroll and belt for the power nozzle.

That's a NICE FQ vacuum-made back when they were built well. This one should last&last!!Far better than the ones made today. Many vac repair techs use a vacuum like these as their "bench" vacuum.

Agreed! I bought a new FQ in 2013. Although I liked having the quick disconnect hose, wand and power nozzle.....I hated the huge gas pump handle, the rocker on/off switch (much prefer the rubber covered paddle switch) and the power nozzle did not groom the carpet very well. I sold it a year later.
