Can anyone lend me some information on this vacuum? I intend to refurbish and keep it forever as it used to belong to a relative and it would be very special to me. I have heard that this a rare vacuum, but how rare? Thank you in advance.

It's based on the Singer Twin Fans and made by Ryobi like many of the other Kenmores Twin Fan vacuums, but this one has the red/black Heavy Duty color scheme and a grounded cord.

I have seen one at Habitat before, I don't know how rare they are.

I have s slightly older looking version of this machine myself. Might be the cheaper version too, I don't know much about them either.

Here's the catalog page I have for this cleaner (sorry some pictures were cut out). This is from 1991-92, I think yours is an older model based on the headlight lens and the graphics on yours are on the hood instead of the base of the handle. I'd say yours is from the late 1980s.

Well here we are, looks the same but without a headlight and I suspect it’s missing that weird plastic box at the bottom of th handle.

Not all of them had the plastic box on handle.
They also made this in self propelled version
