A Rexair model 3

Is a special WW2 built Rexair that old man Hill schemed and figured a way to keep a vacuum operation going during the war, He got it declared a medical device and sold Rexairs on doctors prescriptions all thru the war, The machine is green and looks nothing like the model A or B, Doctors would prescribe a Rexair for asthma or allergies!!!LOL,Very few of these exist but Mike Pletcher used to have one, he brought it to a VCCC convention one year,

Old Man Hill

Was the President of Rexair who famously , with the help of JV Sanders cooked up a scheme in the late 50s to get the company back from Ward Industries who had taken it over in 1956 from Martin Parry corp, He had Sanders tell all the dealers and salesmen to sell to anyone especially bad credit risks, hanging them with 9 million dollars of bad debt in 1958 dollars!!! They then proceeded to buy the company away from Ward industries, Ward industries wanted Rexairs factory to start with for their dry cleaning interests in Prosperity Manufacturing, they were not really into vacuums anyway,This was when Rexair became known as the Rainbow, 1960-1961 and the first Rainbow machine was introduced as the then current model D but the name was a colorful painted rainbow on the hammertone gold machine. This info came from the late Clay Floyd who began working for a Mr mench in 1961 who was one of the very early Rexair distrubutors in the 30s.

Hoover Concept One with headlights
Hoover Concept II with headlights

Oh, if I could find a Royal tank with that odd Manta Rey PN, I'd love that!

It'd also be really cool to find one with both the Filter Queen PN and Filter Queen rug nozzle.

It's one of those machines with a weird sort of nostalgia for me - my folks never had one, but we had a Filter Queen and a Sani-Clean, and those Royal tanks with the FQ-compatible tools feel like a relative of both. (Though AFAIK, the actual lineage is limited to Royal producing the first Filter Queens for Health-Mor.)

You can barely see the stingray head peeking out between the E sirens head and the dark blue Royal upright.

And the machine it came to me with:

vacuums I would love to find and Lewyt electronic

First, to the person who wanted the Lewyt electronic, they are nice machines, but if you get one I would suggest using it with rubber gloves since they were known for electrocuting people. My nick name for that one is the zapper.
I'm a die hard canister person, so want to find more canisters. The only current canister I would like to have is a current model Delphin but they are very hard to find. As far as vintage canisters, maybe a Filtex, and one of the 1970's Kenmore power teams, and one of the Eureka power teams from the 1970's, I think the canned ham was their top of the line model. Would also be interested in more Air-way and Compact Tristar models before Aerus bought the company and in my opinion ruined them, I already have an Air-way 55 and Compact C6.
Mike
