The age of that machine is the first 4 digits of the serial number. Thats vintage 1989-1992 or so. |

That is the Hoover Convertible 700 U4497. It has a 6.5 amp PowerSurge motor and metal agitator with two rows of brushes and two rows of beater bars. Normal speed= 5.5 amps PowerSurge speed= 6.5 amps |

I have this exact same model. It runs smooth and quiet for a plastic base Convertible. It really digs into the carpet and leaves nice lines! |
