I ordered a replacement rubber handle grip for a Convertible and had to paint it to match the color. I used Rust-Oleum multi-surface enamel after being recommended it for this purpose by a few art teachers that I know. The paint did not stick too well and never fully cured. I then applied Rust-Oleum clear coat over the paint. This was a significant improvement, but it still does not feel fully cured after months of sitting without handling; I am still concerned that it may come off in my hands while vacuuming.

What are your experiences with replacement handle grips? I have the clear one that is identical to the original used on the machines (not the basic one used on the 714, 719).
