Hello everyone. I'm new and posting for the first time here, so I hope this is an appropriate question: I'm restoring a Kirby Classic 3 (2CB) and unfortunately I've broken the red handle lock button. I've been searching high and low for a replacement, but can only find it in tan. Does anyone have a suggestion for where I might be able to find a red one? Thanks in advance.

Hello

You won't find a replacement. They have been discontinued. I believe black color is new OEM for your vacuum.

I dont agree

Start going to older Kirby dealers, they usually have bins full of old parts.

Here in NC

We have many old Kirby shops as they were very popular here, I didn't think about different areas not having them.

They have BLACK, but further searching their site might reveal a RED one.

Jeff,

Your best bet would be to obtain one from another Kirby Classic III. The exact part number was 136676.

On the side, I am still trying to look for a replacement handle lock button for my 1984 Kirby Heritage 84, which would be dark gray (part number 136681).
