Found a great item at the local thrift store...nearly new Royal 880 upright with unused tools, too, for the bargain price of $6.50. Only needed a new paper filter bag, and a new belt. BTW, my local vacuum repair shop said Kirby belts work fine in a Royal metal upright, a bit harder to put on and off, but more long lasting and durable than Royal belts. And for the older models without a plastic tube for the top-fill bags, the Eureka F and G bags fit fine, and are easier to get than most "Royal Aire" bags the company sells. Just wanted to pass that along.
