Hello everybody.
I've joined the forum, to see if you can help me.

Whilst clearing the attic, we noticed we had found an old vacuum. I've taken it down and given it a good old external clean. I'm just wondering what I have discovered.

Hope my lack of knowledge isn't laughed at.

Just wondering if I have made an exciting find. I thought it was exciting,

Thanks in advance

Late 70's- mid 80's Kenmore Panasonic or Electrolux. Sorry not much help but that's my vacuum knowledge.

I’m not too familiar with the 240 volt European vacuum cleaners, but from the looks of it, my best guess would be that it’s a vintage Goblin cylinder vacuum. In the attached image, it’s the vacuum in the upper right-hand corner I believe. Some of our overseas friends please feel free to chime in and correct me if I’m wrong! Thanks!

only an arrogant ass would dare to laugh at you for this.(Sadly, I know of some of these people).
Second: I believe I've seen this machine in some of the "Overseas" posts. I hope someone from 'across the pond' chimes in.

Hello Dolly! (sorry, was TOO easy)

I'm sure you'll get proper, correct info. You might also get false, fabricated info. You machine seems to be in very good condition for its age. I hope the right person ends up with it, and, that you'll get a proper price for it.
Hans, thank for the kind words, as usual.I'd never in a million years try to elaborate on that cleaner. I've known people why try to snowball, using $10.00 words, some, even 3-syllables.
So, Dolly, best of luck. Let us know how it progresses.
John

That vacuum does indeed look to be a Goblin.

I find the upright in the advertisement to be an interesting set up. First time I have seen that model. I would like to see some information on that and possibly an owners manual to see it's inner workings.

I posted this answer to this almost a month ago in the thread you started in the vintage vacuum forum.

The white parts wands and hose are from that machine. I cant read the name on it (Possibly Swebline which was a store brand) but it was definately made by The British Vacuum Cleaner Corporation (Goblin) in the 1970s. The grey parts are from a slightly earlier Goblin from the mid 1960s.
